It was a sweet summer day in mid-august. The bent grass through my field was becoming way too tall and hard to shred, so it was worth a clear cut some time in the near future. Well, it just took me two hours of work. I was not rewarded a compliment by anyone, but it made me feel good.

I had then to remove some young acacias that were fast increasing in number as well; I put them to rest in the ditch that marks the borders of the field, where they would fertilize the land in a compost heap with some other cut grass and spoiled fruits. Then, in some months I would shake things up a bit and pick the newly formed brown menure to nurture my vegetable garden – which will be growing up in the most natural way.
